University Archives Book Collection

The book collection of the University Archives deals primarily with publications by the university. These include budgets, directories, bulletins, yearbooks, Cooperative Extension publications, Agricultural Experiment Station publications, biennial reports, master plans, histories, and alumni directories. Many departmental and specialized publications are not cataloged, but are located as part of the records of the issuing university office.

In addition, the college newspaper, the Spectrum (1896-present) is available on microfilm and in hard copy.

Research Tools

The NDSU Libraries online catalog is the primary research tool in finding cataloged books and periodicals located at the University Archives.

Access

All books and periodicals are located in the Institute/Archives Research Room where you may retrieve or browse the collection yourself. The books are arranged in the Library of Congress classification system, the same as used at the NDSU Libraries. The reference staff is available to assist in your research needs. No books may be checked out. Copying facilities are available for both print and microforms.
