The Institute for Regional Studies Archives & University Archives is pleased to make available a growing collection of digital materials via Digital Horizons, an online visual collection of historic images showcasing North Dakota and the Northern Great Plains, and a growing number of NDSU related image collections on Flickr.
Northern Great Plains, 1880-1920 features almost a thousand images from the Institute for Regional Studies Archives as part of the Library of Congress’ American Memory, a digital record of American history and creativity.
The goal of the Institute for Regional Studies Archives & University Archives is to make the public aware of the quality and depth of the photograph collections in its collections and to encourage further research using original photographic materials. Offering this public web-based collection helps further the libraries’ and university’s missions of making unique collections and scholarship available electronically for use by students, faculty and staff, educators, and the wider community.
The images here are offered for research purposes. Individual digital copies may be requested by contacting the Institute for Regional Studies Archives & University Archives. An online order form is available. Questions may be addressed to NDSU.Library.Archives@ndsu.edu or by telephone at 701-231-8914.
