Margaret McDermott Jennings Stark
Near South Heart 1907
[Full Frame]

Margaret and her seven-year-old daughter homesteaded in this shack. "The house contained one large room, one end the kitchen and dining area, the other end, living and sleeping area. The couch was our bed. . . The buildings were well built but not painted-tar papered." She returned to her parents' home in Fargo after proving up.
