Find the book you want using HerdSearch. Click on the “Find or Request” link to sign-in to see request options. You will be e-mailed as soon as the book is available for check out.
Community members can get a Community Access Card from the Main Library Circulation Desk or any of the Branch Libraries. If you are a Tri-College student, faculty or staff member you can check out NDSU materials with your institutional ID.
Click on the Services tab on the home page of the library and then click on the Interlibrary Loan Link (ILL). You can then log into your ILLiad account and check your requests. Call the ILL service desk if you are having problems at 701-231-8885.
Click on the “Services” tab on the Libraries Home page. Click on the “Request from storage annex” link, log in and fill out the form and click submit. Items are available for checkout the next day at the pick-up location you selected.

There are drop boxes outside the Main Library, on the 1st floor of IACC, and in the lobby on the south side of Memorial Union. Items may also be returned inside the Main Library and any of the branch libraries located in Barry (Business), Klai (Architecture), and Sudro (Health Sciences).
You do not need to be logged into your library account to use HerdSearch. If you click on an article you find through HerdSearch or a database, you will be asked for a log in to view the article. Use the same log in you use for Blackboard and campus computer clusters.
