Obituary of Walter Bamesberger
Mr. Walter Bamesberger of Lodi passed away Thursday
March 3, 2005 at his residence at the age of 78. Mr. Bamesberger
was born April 18, 1926 in Hoffnungstal, Ukraine to Christian
and Christine Bamesberger.
Walter worked as a Cellar Foreman for Guild Winery
for 31 years before retiring in 1985. He previously worked for
Gunsch Bros. Body Shop in Lodi. Mr. Bamesberger was a 53-year
member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi, Dakota Club of Lodi
and Seniors in Retirement of Lodi. He was an avid croquet player
and enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing cards and spending time
with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his time spent
with his grandchildren. He will be best remembered as a loving
husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Mrs. Anette
Bamesberger of Lodi; two daughters, Joanne Bamesbrger of Lodi;
Christine Bamesberger-Youngsma and husband Wendell of Lodi; two
brothers, Heinrich Bamesberger and Reinhold Bamesberger both of
Germany; one sister, Hilda Kasarin of Kazakhstan; two grandchildren,
Lauren and Jakob Youngsma of Lodi. He was preceded in death by
one daughter, Hilda Christine Bamesberger and one brother, Gustav
Bamesberger.
A church service will be held Tuesday March 8, 2005
1:00 pm at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, followed by interment
at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held
Monday 12:00 to 8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. A virtual register
book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories may
be shared.
