A program for Matilda (Schlenker) Dockter's 105th
birthday party was held Sunday, July 30.
Ruth Fischer (daughter) was master of ceremonies.
Welcome and prayer by Edwin Dockter (son). A song "Count Your
Blessings" was sung by all. "Matilda 105" was written and read
by Sandi Dewald. A song "Supper Time" was sung by Gabrielle McIntosh,
Montevideo, MN accompanied on the piano by her mom Carol. "What
is a perfect gift for mother" was written and read by Ruth Fischer.
A reading "What does thank you mean" was read by Jenneice Sommerfeld.
Reading "Being a good mother" was read by Debbie
Schott. A special guest, Michael Miller, NDSU, Fargo. Michael
spoke about and read parts of the interview he did with Matilda
in 1994. Michael also spoke about his trip to Russia. He said
he found the Schlenker home in Klostitz Bessarabia very interesting.
The song "Amazing Grace" was sung by all. Edwin thanked everyone
for coming to be with Matilda on her big day. The birthday song
was sung by all.
All of Matilda's children were present: Edwin,
Streeter, Adam, Billings, MT, Vi Remboldt, Streeter, Harold, Eureka,
CA, Ruth Fischer, Gackle, Howard, Gackle. Arthur passed away in
1995.
