first printing was published in the German language in 1818 and
was later edited by Friedrich Fiechtner, Landsmannschaft der Bessarabiendeutschen,
Stuttgart, Germany.
This story is a true account of the emigration to Russia from
1816 to 1817 describing in detail the journey from Ulm, Württemberg,
Germany down the Danube River to South Russia. The author of the
diary describes the journey at length portraying the life and conditions
in the German colonies which had been funded in 1804.
