The Germans from Russia Heritage Collection is pleased to provide this important publication relating to the Volga German music of Argentina in the colony of Santa Teresa.

The introductory text in the German language presents valuable maps and historical information with photographs and biographical information of Thomas Kopp including his "Russlanddeutschen Liederbuches" published in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1937. There is an extensive Bibliography - "Liste der Abegkürzt Zitierten Literatur" and index of songs - "Alphabetische Übersicht der Liedeingänge und -Überschriften".

Some of the thirty-four songs with words and notes include: 1) "Es wohnt ein Markgraft nicht weit vom Rhein" (Die Markgrafentöchter; Ballade: Die dienende Schwester); 2) " An der Saale kühlem Srande" (Heimatlied); 3) "O Sraßburg, O Straßburg" (Soldatenlied/Soldatenklage); 4) "Die mit dem roten Rock" (Die Mädchen der Kolonie; Tanzlied/Viezeiler); 5) "Ihr Deutschen zugleich" (Lied der Amerikafahrer, Auswantererlied: Lied der Argentinienfahrer); 6) "Ach Schatz, warum bis due so trauig?" (Liebselied); and 7) "Drei Weiße Wiesenblumen" (Tanzlied, Kinderlied); 8) "Kehr aus! Kehr aus!" (Tanzlied).
