Hague in south central North Dakota was heavily settled by immigrants from the Black Sea German Catholic colonies of the Kutschurgan District, South Russia (today near Odessa, Ukraine). The book begins with historical information including: The Black Sea Germans in Russia; The Black Sea Germans in North Dakota; Recollections of Early Settlers; Life and Struggles of Our Early Settlers; The Origination of Hague; Businesses of Hague, North Dakota; The First Arrivals; The History of St. Mary's Church; Parish Community Apostles; Catholic War Veterans; Dutch Settlements in Our Midst;  The Holland Settlement; Prairie Churches; and memory stories.

The section Remembering Yesterday and Today includes: Hague Public School History; Memories of Hague Schools; Memories of Hague School Teachers; Bob's Sports Days with many team photographs; and many other memory stories. There is a listing for Hague High School Alumni Directory of 1933 to 1986. Photographs are shown from the Hague All Class Reunion of July 4, 2008.
