Message from Allyn Brosz
Electronic mail message from Allyn Brosz, Washington, DC, 2 November 2010
Dear Ronald Giesinger,
I'd like to express my appreciation and gratitude regarding your
decision to donate your father's research collection to the Germans
from Russia Heritage Collection.
I was privileged to service with Adam Giesinger on the board of
directors of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia,
and I can recall many delightful and informative conversations when
we attended board meetings around the country. I also marveled at
the breadth of his knowledge of our common heritage. Even today I
will occasionally discover an apparently obscure source of
information about the Germans in Russia. Then I consult "From
Catherine to Kruschev" and discover that he had read that source
years ago.
I also recall with delight the enthusiasm he showed when he mastered
the computer. While we served together on the board, he produced and
presented to AHSGR the complete edited text of Gottlieb Beratz's
book on the Volga Germans.
Please express my gratitude to your siblings as well for your
thoughtful and generous gift. I know that many researchers will
benefit from having access to this collection.
Best Wishes
Allyn Brosz
