This collection contains material pertaining to the White family. The family originated in Hungary, then moved to Gluckstal Russia in the late 1800’s. While living in Russia, the family still spoke German, the head of the family at the time, John Dufloth, refused to speak Russian and did not trust Russian traders. When the Czar started forcing people to speak Russian and drafting men into the army, the family found a sponsor in America. From Russia the family immigrated to the United States, living in Virginia, Iowa, and South Dakota. The family moved many times, and worked various jobs.en_US
