Pladson family history added to book collection

The family history book The Pladsons of Newburgh Township has been donated to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection by one of its co-authors, William Teie.  Other authors were Andrew John Teie and Julie Pladson Stroh.  The book traces the family of Osten Halvorsen Pladson who came from Nes, Hallingdal, Norway.  The family settled in Newburgh Township near Hatton, North Dakota.  The book is 534 pages long and features a number of ph

Al Gustin's Farm Byline added to Archives book collection

The book Farm Byline: Reflections on North Dakota Agriculture 1974-2013, by Al Gustin, has been added to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection. The book contains Gustin's columns that first appeared in North Dakota Living magazine.  They reflect on how farming and ranching has changed in the region during the years the Mr. Gustin wrote his columns and and radio commentaries.

Center for Heritage Renewal donates publication to Archives

N.D.S.U. History Professor Tom Isern, with the Center for Heritage Renewal has donated the publication The Antelope Valley Station to Neset Transmisson Project: A Critical Review to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection.  The publication is a report on the Center's study of the impact of the proposed Basin Electric transmission line across the Killdeer Mountain Battlefield site.
