Title: North Dakota Farmers' Grain Marketing Practices
Author: Bedker, Gary; Anderson, Donald
Description: A survey of farmers was conducted in North Dakota's most highly concentrated small grain growing region , east-central North Dakota, regarding their grain marketing practices. Results of the survey indicate the importance of the local elevator to North Dakota small-grain farmers. Local elevators received more than 99% of the total wheat sold by sample farmers. The majority of farmers interviewed felt that by using the marketing practices of providing uniform quality, selling in large volume, or selling grain for seed, they could increase their net price per bushel of grain sold.
