This introductory course in human geography meets the current NDUS general education requirements for social sciences, and it qualifies for these institution’s world cultures course status. It focuses upon concepts, models, and applications of contemporary human geography to the study of the cultural landscape at scales ranging from the local through the global. The spatial approach is used to discover geographical perspectives on population, migration, language, religion, folk and popular culture, economic systems, political systems, rural and urban settlement, land use planning, tourism, and environmental issues. |
