Title: Leisure Time Industries

Description: The leisure and recreational industries in North Dakota contribute substantial revenue. Travel and tourism contributed $48 million in tax revenues in 1981. also, in $646 million in expenditures. 18,000 jobs were created. In 1983, boats, fishing tackle sales and three wheeler sales was soaring. Outdoor recreational activities are enjoyed by substantial numbers of North Dakotas' citizens. Given the changing nature of people's choices in leisure time activities, it is necessary to re-evaluate these to capitalize on scarce resources and to maximize revenues. Subsections of the article are discussed, state parks, resident hunting and fishing, non-resident hunters and fishermen, the Devil's Lake and snowobiling.
