Description: By 1984, the number of elderly citizens on North Dakota increased by a rate faster than the state's total population. This brings up issues critical for the care of those elderly. The article presents attitudes of 700 randomly selected North Dakota farm men and women concerning their views on elderly care. the differences between male and female responses in this survey were explored using Chi-squire analysis. The various dynamics of both elderly male and female family members is reviewed. Also, as these stressors affect the extended family structure. The family is the core unit of society.
