dc.description Management factors contributing to the profitablility of a North Dakota crop farm include: high crop yields, low machinery cost, effective marketing including use of government programs and low cost resource acquisition. This article analyzes practices used by farmers to achieve these management factors. The article begins with crop production: wheat and barley yields and sunflowers. Next, machinery management: machinery cost per acre and repair cost per acre. Marketing practices and finance practices follow. The summary addresses each of these categories both on findings and their optimal state.
