dc.description Agriculture is the major source of income in the state of North Dakota. The need for diversification in the North Dakota economy has become evident especially in light of turndowns in agriculture. and energy. Manufacturing is one potential source for diversification and economic growth. The manufacturing sector provides jobs for many young, educated males mostly. These workers tend to commute short distances to work and tend to stay at their jobs for longer periods of time.
