dc.description The purpose of the study outlined in this article was to describe contributions made by North Dakota older people and to describe the support they received. In addition to add the description of the differences in the contribution and supports of rural elderly versus urban elderly. These tasks included household tasks, community tasks and social, emotional and personal care. Included was the help given family, friends and others. The demographics of the individuals were taken into account. At the time of the writing of this article, the population of North Dakota was on the rise. Rural areas had fewer services available to those needing assistance. The findings of the study revealed that both rural and urban elderly were quite similar in giving contributions and in receiving supports.
