Author: Watt, David; Sell, Randy
Description: Specialization of agricultural products such as grains, etc expose farmers to higher risks due to unforeseen events in the marketplace such as increased competition, etc. Livestock that is fed from crop residues may aid in offsetting changing prices in grain, bean, etc crops. Determining the optimal size herd is necessary. Reducing up front investment for additional structures to house livestock must be weighed. Livestock is labour intensive.
