Description: Tough economic factors can stress family structures. Adolescents can pick up on these stress factors from their parents and other family members. This article wants to determine if here are any differences in rural vs urban adolescents regarding stress. The criteria for a study in North Dakota concerning this is given. How urban and rural adolescents to stress is cited. How does stress affect self-esteem? A lack of self-esteem may reduce an adolescents desire to fully utilize their talents, challenge their intellects and even investigate their new friendships. Stress may leave adolescents with the sense that they have less control over their lives.
