Title: Flax Response to Planting Rate

Description: Deep seding, soil crusting, a dry or lumpy seedbed, herbicide injury and other variables may produce flax seed plants with poor stands. The need for discovering optimum seed planting rates which would produce the healthiest stands was of paramount need in North Dakota. Established plant populations of 47 plants per square foot or greater in non-lodged environs produced optimum flax yields. Lodging affected yields.
