Biographical / Historical
Lois Schneider is a former NDSU student, 1964-1968, who graduated with a degree in Nutrition and Home Economics Education. After graduating, Schneider spent 2 years in Trichy, Tamilnadu, India as a member of the U.S. Peace Corps. She then received her M.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Cornell University, 1970-1973. From 1987-2004, Lois Schneider served as a federal employee for the United States senate while living in the Fargo North Dakota area. She authored the book ‘1981 Peace Corps Directory Former Volunteers and Staff: The Peace Corps Institute’. The book was published through College & University Press in 1981. She was married to John Schneider, now deceased, they had 2 children who had 6 children, all in North Dakota. Lois Schneider has worked for and with NDSU for almost her entire life, acting as a board member in many societies and communities on campus and in North Dakota.
