Welcome to the NDSU Libraries! Below are a few of the areas of interest to help you get acquainted with some of our most popular services and locations. You can view the floor plans as well to help you find the services located in the Main Library building.

 

3D Printing
3D Printing

3D printing is available as a drop off service for all NDSU students, faculty, and staff. There is a fee for printing. See the 3D printing page for more information.

Blue Key Honor Society Wing
Blue Key Honor Society Wing

Thanks to the generosity of the NDSU Student Senate, the Main library has a new study wing in the southeast corner of the first floor. It includes three group study rooms with wireless screen sharing, a variety of seating options and lots of white boards.

Business Learning Center
Business Learning Center

The Business Learning Center is located downtown in Barry Hall, Room 22, and contains resources related to business, agribusiness, and economics.

Center for Writers
Center for Writers

Located in the lower level of the Main Library, the Center for Writers can help you with editing and writing your research papers. They accept appointments and (time permitting) walk-ins.

Check-out Desk
Check-out Desk

At the Main Library Check-out desk you can:

  • Use your Bison card to check out items like books, DVDs, study room keys, headphones, calculators and more
  • Check out materials your instructor placed on reserve
  • Pick up items you requested from the free interlibrary loan service
  • Ask questions about your library account
  • Pay fines and fees
  • Send a fax
Computer Cluster
Computer Cluster

There are 46 computers on the main floor of the library including both PCs and Macs and a computer lab (PC only) on the lower level. The main floor computer cluster has electrical outlets so you can use your own devices as well. Log into campus computers using your NDSU user name and password.

Germans from Russia Heritage Collection
Germans from Russia Heritage Collection

This special collection is located on the first floor of the Main Library. It contains unique and hard to find resources about the history and culture of the Germans from Russia of which there are many in the Northern plains.

GoPrint, Scanners and Photocopiers
GoPrint, Scanners and Photocopiers

By the computer cluster there are both black and white and color GoPrint printers, two scanners and a photocopy machine (cash only).

Government Documents
Government Documents

Federal documents from agencies such as the USDA and the Department of Education are in the northwest corner of the second floor of the Main Library. We also collect items published by the State of North Dakota.

Health Sciences Library
Health Sciences Library

The P. N. Haakenson Health Sciences Library is located at the West Building at 3601 7th Avenue North.

Help Desk
Help Desk

At the Help Desk you will find librarians available to help you during most of the hours the Main Library is open. You can also call us at 231-8886 or IM us using the chat on our website. You can also get technology help from ITS student workers during select hours.

Klai Juba Wald Architectural Studies Library
Klai Juba Wald Architectural Studies Library

The Klai Juba Wald Architectural Studies Library is located downtown in Klai hall, room 310.

Materials to Check Out
Materials to Check Out

Most of the Main Library’s books that you can check out are on the second floor in what we call the “stacks”. Books are organized by subject using the Library of Congress classification system. Ask a librarian if you need help finding anything.

Math Emporium
Math Emporium

Located on the lower level, the Math Emporium provides tutoring and practice for college algebra, trigonometry and pre-calculus.

NDSU Archives
NDSU Archives

Located in the West Building (3601 7th Avenue North), the NDSU Archives collections document the history of NDSU, North Dakota, and the upper Great Plains region.

Study Rooms
Study Rooms

There are groups study rooms throughout the Main Library that can be reserved online or at the check-out desk. The group study rooms feature white boards and wireless screen sharing technology. Individual study rooms are also available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Tri-College Libraries
Tri-College Libraries

You can also use your Bison card to check materials at MSUM and Concordia Libraries. When you are done, return them to the NDSU Main Library and we’ll get them back for you.
