Do you find yourself not using the books, DVDs, and other materials available at the NDSU Libraries because you’re always downtown, off campus, or just don’t have the time to visit one of our branches? Well, for a limited time only, the Libraries have expanded our existing shuttle service to include Renaissance Hall! Now, you can request items from any of our branches and have them brought to Renaissance Hall for pick up.
Not sure how to request a book? Just log in on the NDSU Libraries website using the “My Account” link at the top of the page, search the library catalog for the item you want, and click the “Find or Request” link on the item record. From there, you can choose which branch you’d like the item brought to (the Main Library, the Business Learning Center at Barry Hall, the Klai Juba Wald Architectural Studies Library at Klai Hall, or Renaissance Hall), and submit your request. Library staff will pull the item, and you’ll get an email when it’s available for pick up. For full tutorial click here.
Materials are delivered to Renaissance Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and you’ll have a week to pick up your item before it’s sent back to its home branch. The hold shelf is located in Office 108, and there will be a sheet to sign out your items to confirm you’ve checked them out. When you’re finished with your materials, there’s even a return drop box right in the lobby at Renaissance Hall!
This is a pilot project for the remainder of the 2017-2018 academic year. The extended service to Renaissance Hall does not include Interlibrary Loan (ILL) materials or media items. If the service is successful, we will consider including ILL items, daily delivery, and media items, so let us know what you think!
