Celebrate with us: Upgrades to the Weber Reading Room
WHEN: Wednesday, April 12th at 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: Main Library, Weber Reading Room
Notice any changes in the Library recently? Thanks to a generous donation from Mary Lou Shott, the library received new furniture for the Weber Reading Room which she founded in 2005. The donation consists of new chairs, tables, ottomans, and carpeting. The remodel gives the Weber Reading Room a modern look and fresh feel, while providing comfort in support of student reading and learning.
Ms. Shott, a 1972 NDSU Alum and former trustee of the NDSU Executive Governing Board of the North Dakota State University Foundation and Alumni Association, is passionate about reading and self-education. She is generously sharing that passion with NDSU patrons by enhancing the Weber Reading Room with cozy furniture, so patrons can curl up with a good book.
She believes that, “Great universities require excellent library resources. I believe a quality library is a crucial element in providing a foundation for lifelong learning and in supporting the skills needed to thrive in a global world.”
The Weber Reading Room holds the Shott Collection, which includes award-winning popular fiction and non-fiction material on a variety of subjects. The space provides a comfortable place for students to read, study, and socialize.
Help us celebrate and honor this donation at the Re-Grand Opening of the Weber Reading Room.
