Charles LeRoy Judd was born at Waupun, Wisconsin April 4, 1856.  He was a photographer in Jamestown, North Dakota from about 1884 until coming to Fargo in October 1896, having bought the studio of Jacob Skrivseth. His studio was located at 65 1/2 Broadway.  He married Winifred "Minnie" E. Minor on June 25, 1888 at Jamestown, N.D.  The 1900 census gives her name as Winifred E., born in August 1867 in Michigan.  In 1901 Mr. Judd sold his business to Peter A. Johnson and moved to Anacortes, Washington.

It appears that Winifred passed away or was divorced from Charles, since he was married to an woman by the name of Anna Bell about 1908. As of 1930, Charles and Anna Belle were still living in Anacortes.
