Nicholas Edward Pitsch was born June 19, 1874 in Michigan. A photograph in the Institute collection places Pitsch at Finley, North Dakota in 1907. He was married to Rosama Bissonnette on February 22, 1906 in Fargo. They had one daughter, prior to their marriage ending in divorce in March of 1910.
He
is first listed in a Fargo city directory in 1909.
He opened Pitsch Photo Studio at 230 Broadway, and around 1919
he moved his business to 414 Broadway. His business was given as Pitsch’s Photo Shop
on a 1912 image. In the 1920 census
he is listed being single. He
is no longer found in Fargo after 1920.
