Philmer Alexander Sample was born January 20, 1875 in Texas. He is listed in the 1899-1900 Fargo city directory as a photographer at 508 Front Street. He married B. Maude Jump in Fargo on February 27, 1899. He left Fargo sometime around 1900. He registered for service in World War I at Washoe, Nevada. He was in Utah for a time in the 1950s. He died in Shasta County, California on September 17, 1965. 1890s photographers
