After Dr. Schanche's death, Randi continued her nursing career even after her marriage. Becoming well-known for her "doctoring" and midwifery, she made many hectic, bouncing trips across the prairie to aid expectant mothers. One of her own children was born only seven minutes after she arrived home from another delivery.
