Ward 1906

Anna (center right) and her sister, Sina (center left), are enjoying a picnic at Rice Lake with their friends Eva Prouse and Clara Drady. All four women homesteaded. Rice Lake was a social center hosting vaudeville shows, dances, rodeos, the Barnum and Bailey Circus, and an annual 4th of July celebration. Since the men are in traditional dress, Native American dances may have been a part of this day's activities.
