Ehrman's Ice Cream Place

Fred Ehrman was born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1848. He came to Fargo in 1883 and opened a confectionary shop at 213 Broadway. Various trade cards for Ehrman's Ice Cream Place advertise it as the "nicest resort for ice cream and soda water, fancy cakes and bakery stuff in the Northwest." These trade cards were published prior 1889 when Fargo was in Dakota Territory. Ehrman lost his business in the fire of 1893. He rebuilt his business, and had shops in various locations until about 1905, when he moved to San Diego, California.
