Draper A. Lindsey
Draper A. Lindsey was born in Fairfax, Indiana on June 1, 1848. After graduating form Northwestern University of Illinois in June of 1873, Lindsey went to Plainview, Minnesota, where he served as superintendent of schools for seven years. He moved to Fargo in 1880 and served as superintendent of schools for two years before beginning the study of law in 1884 under Stone & Newman. He passed the bar in 1885 and practiced law in the firm of Stone & Newman until starting his own law practice in January 1887. He served as Fargo city attorney for two years.
Draper married Carrie A. Stone, a Minnesota native, in 1877, and they had three children.
