Aurelius L. Wall
Aurelius Wall was born in Hornby, New York, on October 20, 1848, but was reared and educated in Illinois. At the age of 14, he accepted a position with Carson, Pririe, Scott & Co. in Chicago. He moved to Grand Rapids , Michigan in 1864 where he worked for eight years in the lumber and furniture businesses. He came to Fargo in 1882 and took charge of a lumber yard owned by the Crockett & Shotwell. The following year saw the formation of the Fargo Lumber Company and Wall was selected as superintendent. Two years later he moved to Binghamton on the Soo Line where he conducted a lumber yard.
Wall returned to Fargo in 1886 to take charge of the W. H. White Lumber Company. He remained with White until 1899 when he started his own lumber business in Fargo.
Wall married Miss Ida V. Stebbins of Onondaga county New York on October 27, 1870. They had a son and a daughter (Lottie E.).
Wall served on the Fargo city council in 1893 and 1894. He was also a director of the Fargo YMCA.
