Tonnes Thams, MD

Tonnes Thams was born on May 5, 1848, in Norway, near the city of Tunsberg. Dr. Thams graduated from the medical department of the University of Norway in 1873 and practiced medicine in Norway for 11 years. Deciding to try his fortune in America, he traveled to Minnesota in 1884. He set up practice in Minneapolis, where he live until 1893. Dr. Thams then moved to Valley City, ND, where he lived until 1895, when he came to Fargo. Dr. Thams was both physician and surgeon and practiced in Fargo for a number of years.

Mr. Thams married Miss Augusta Just, a native of Norway, in 1875. She passed away in 1897. The Thams had four children.
