Times Cafe

The Times Cafe opened in November 1939, in the location previously belonging to the Virginia Cafe at 616 Front Street (Main Avenue). It was owned by James G. Santrizos, who was associated with the Golden Maid Cafe. The Santrizos family apparently had left Fargo by 1945, and the restaurant was then operated by John and James Tsiolis. The Times Cafe had once again changed hands by 1948 with C. J. and Hazel Myers listed as owners in the Fargo city directory. In 1951 Herbert Wong was listed as owner. About 1953 the cafe moved to 322 Broadway and for the next six years the directories list Herbert, Robert, Howe and Eddie Wong as owners and operators. The last directory that lists the Times Cafe was 1958.
