William Deering and Company
According to the Argus Fire Anniversary Edition the William Deering Company came to Fargo in 1878, however it was not mentioned in a Fargo city directory until 1884. The company was located at 502 N.P. Avenue. The building was destroyed by the Fargo fire of 1893, and a new brick building was constructed on the same site.
In 1902, the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company and the Deering Harvester Company merged to form the International Harvester Company.
