NDSU Libraries announces new design for German-Russian website
February 15, 2000
The NDSU Libraries is pleased to announce the new address, design and navigation for the Germans from Russia Heritage Collection (GRHC) website: http://library.ndsu.edu/grhc
Viewers are invited to review the new front page and become familiar with the sections and features. There are five main sections including photographs: General Information - History/Culture - Media - Order - Outreach.
One of the many interesting new features found at the front page is the "Audio Interview Clips." Here you will find three sample audio clips of Rosa Hochstein Kuntz, Bismarck, ND, from an oral interview. Rosa was born in the South Russia German villages. The audio clips include: "Strassburg song"; "Song on the way to Mass," and "Daily chores and routines." The GRHC will be adding more audio interview clips in the future as part of the Oral History Project.
The front page includes quick links to News - Recent Books - Donate - Guestbook - Links - Mission - Tours - Audio Interview Clips - Listserves - NDSU Library Catalog - Video Clips.
The Video Clips section will be ready for viewing in the spring of 2001. This will include short videotape footage from the Journey to the Homeland Tours to the Glueckstal and Kutschurgan villages near Odessa, Ukraine, and filming in the Dakotas for documentary work.
Comments about the new website design will be appreciated. Sign the Guestbook with a message.
Appreciation is extended to W.L. Gardner, NDSU Libraries webmaster, and to the NDSU students employed by GRHC as web developers: Mike Ernst, Joshua Koppinger, Jason Schmidt and Terrence Whittet, for their outstanding work updating the web pages from the old website to the new website. Work was begun in October, 2000, and continues in the final stages in February, 2001.
