French "Onion Fish" -- A Recipe Tested Just For You

*Ingredients to Serve Four Persons:*

250 grams onions [just over 1/2 pound]
20 grams margarine [ca. 3/4 ounce]
400 grams fish filet (cod, pollack, or other preferred fish) [ca. 14 ounces]
1 lemon
6 Tbsp. creme fraiche, salt and paprika powder

*Preparation:* Cut onion(s) into thin slices and fry with margarine in an ovenproof dish/pan. Clean the fish filet, sprinkle with juice of the lemon, and add salt to taste. Mix paprika powder into the creme fraiche. Place the fish filet onto the onions in the ovenproof dish/pan, then pour the creme over it and bake the whole thing in the oven for 25 minutes at 175 degrees C [ca. 350 degrees F].

*A Personal Note:* On May 26 of this year, my husband and I traveled to Norway for the 26th time. We stayed on a very small island very close to Kristiansund, forty kilometers [twenty-five miles] from Kyrsaetoera, at the Sjoegloett campground.

On a camping tour, tasty dishes that can be prepared in a short time are of great advantage. The above recipe for onion fish was brought back to us by my son Herald from a trip to France. There he had eaten it at a friend's home, and he liked it a lot.
