The Germans from Russia Heritage Collection is pleased to provide the translation of this work, Memories of Friedenstal in Bessarabia (Erinnerungen aus Friedenstal in Bessarabien 1949). This work was first published in the German language in 1949.

In the Foreword, Pastor E. Tetz, the author writes at Pentecost in 1949: "On the occasion of the "Friedenstaler Day," I am hereby putting into your hands a small book that cares the title, "Erinnerungen aus Friedenstal [Memories of Friedenstal]," and contains scenes of our home village of Friedenstal. The booklet is more of a picture book than it is a chronicle. The photographs, thereby taking the place of so many fond but irretrievable memories."

The publication contains impressive village photographs; the names of men who died in wars; and a picture of the Woodwind Chorus with names. Pages 36 to 48 include the "Register of Names" of residents of the Community of Friedentstal, the parish of Arcis, Bessarabia.
