Dear Members and Friends of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church,

The Catholic Faith and the Catholic Church have been the heart and the center of the lives of our people for many generations.

This year is a special year for us. We celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Fargo, as well as the 100th anniversary of the State of North Dakota.

This is the perfect time for all who are associated with Saints Peter and Paul Parish of Karlsruhe, North Dakota, to reflect on our great history and past.

Our beautiful church building dedicated to the great Apostles, Peter and Paul, indicates the strong Faith our Parents and Grandparents had. They brought this Faith with them from South Russia, where our German ancestors settled.

At the present time we may think the church building is too large. However, in decades past, it was always filled to capacity, resounding with vibrant song and prayer and Faith. The large families of the past gathered to worship the Father in Heaven, who guided and strengthened them on their journeys through life.

The paintings of the Saints are an altogether extraordinary part of our church. These paintings are so artistic, and so precious. They cannot be found duplicated in any church for many hundreds of miles in any direction. They are the artistic creation of a man who loved his Faith.

We are proud, and at the same time humbled, that we have inherited so precious a gift, a genuine work of art. The Faith and the Treasures of Art, given to us, need to be passed on to the next generation.

In this, our Centennial year, we pray in thanksgiving for the Faith and Treasures we have received. We pray too, that this Faith and this Art, will always be precious to our children. May God bless us all, always.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Rev. Joseph Senger, Pastor
