00:06:35 Anthony Faris: Welcome! 00:06:36 Amy Gore: Welcome Phil! Glad to have you. 00:07:02 kristi steinmann: Recording has started and everyone is muted. Please ask questions in the chat or wait for the time to unmute yourself to ask a question. 00:07:12 Linlin Chai: Welcome 00:08:48 MMccourt: Shouldn't the rebric be the recommended 6' distance, not class occupancy. Am I missing something? 00:08:49 Amy Gore: Whew! Thank you for your work. 00:09:14 Jill Lodde Greives: How are students notified of room changes? 00:09:20 Erin Gillam (she/her): When will the location of our new classroom spaces be available in CAmpus connection? 00:09:23 Deirdre Prischmann-Voldseth: When will we find out our room assignments? 00:09:47 Kirk: Are new rooms already loaded into Campus Connection? 00:10:04 Nancy Emerson: Not all spaces are equal. Will scale up classes suddenly find themselves in an auditorium? 00:10:14 Amy Gore: Is it a possibility that classroom assignments might still change up to the first week of classes? 00:10:28 Yagna Jarajapu: I’ve been informed of 75% cap, now I am hearing 50%, please clarify. 00:10:52 Nancy Emerson: What about downtown buildings? 00:10:57 Danling Wang: Do you mean the classroom will change? For example, previous classroom was for 100 students. Now, will be offered a bigger room instead of separating 100 students into two rooms, each about 50 students? 00:11:03 Anthony Faris: Is there some official strategy for how we know what students want to go remote, what students will need to go remote and what students will be in person. 00:11:51 Mark Strand: I teach in AG Hill 300, which has 99 seats, but twice as much room as most classrooms. I hope to do my 2 hour case study class with 73 students. How do I get approval for this? 00:12:11 Kendra Greenlee: is the new room assignment based on the classroom capacity with the waitlisted students? 00:12:26 Nancy Emerson: STEM 130 00:12:34 Ronald Degges: So the room assignment we see on campus connection is not right? 00:13:22 Warren Christensen: AG HILL 300 and AG HILL 130/132 are both SCALE-UP rooms. 00:14:13 Carrie Anne Platt: I sounds like we won’t know if we are staying in our current classrooms until we see the updates on Campus Connection. 00:14:22 Linlin Chai: how about classes in the computer labs? 00:14:43 Robert Pieri (he/ him/ his): What if a class had special interaction needs? 00:16:09 Greg Cook: What little surveying we have been doing indicates about 75% of students want face to face, presuming about 25% remote or concerned? 00:16:10 Susan Ray-Degges: Building of Robert's Pieri's questions - ID studio spaces have been adjusted to accommodate to address 50% will additional communication be made to students? 00:16:22 Bakr Aly Ahmed: How is the Building Circulation illustrated …. IN/OUT and around rooms/corridor 00:17:25 Linlin Chai: Could you find a bigger room for classes scheduled in the computer lab? 00:17:35 Marty Douglas: Will faculty be given a chance to "agree" with the change? Or will it be mandated that we move to the newly assigned space? Thank you. 00:17:38 Dena Wyum: I heard we might be getting maps of our classroom seating to help us create seating charts for contract tracing. Are these maps coming from Registration and Records, or any information where we can access these once we know our classrooms? 00:18:54 Jill Lodde Greives: There had been talk of moving classes to the SHAC. What will be done about the extra time it would take to get between classes if that option is used? 00:19:36 Fardad Azarmi: Can we (instructors) limit students per each class? 00:20:13 Ken Lepper: I would like to hear more about building circulation as well? How will students know the entry/exit flow for what classrooms? 00:20:14 Marie Champagne: If we have a classroom that is supported by a department (FLC 212), but we know that HyFlex will not be available before classes begin, will they be reassigned elsewhere, or would I need to make a request for another room? 00:20:23 Greg Cook: Should we start letting in wait listed students now so you can account for them? 00:21:22 Erin Gillam (she/her): can you give us an idea of when you expect to "hit the button" and have new room assignments come out? end of the week? 00:22:09 Jill Lodde Greives: You mentioned classes would go back to their original class size once a new room has been found. Some of our classes had been reduced to 65-75% of room capacity. Does that mean they will go back to their pre-Covid enrollment size? (From 90 to 135) 00:22:12 John Miller: Is the “Enrollment Cap” column in the Course Enrollment Section Status Report currently based on 75%? 00:22:16 Amelia Asperin: My class has a pre-covid cap of 100 (in a room for 103), but when I checked today, the cap has been changed to the current enrollment with the waitlist turned on. Does this mean there was not a room available so I’m capped until a room is found? 00:23:54 Linlin Chai: Any suggestions to students if they need to commute to different locations from class to class? Are they required to do the social distance in the buses? 00:24:27 Carol Archbold: We have a few CJ courses that have enrollments above the classroom capacity (for example, CJ 210 has 96 registered students but the classroom capacity is now 89). How do we deal with the overage of students? This happened after the classroom capacity was changed recently. 00:24:57 MMccourt: The signs on the entrance to Music are enter on the left and exit on the right. DIs this to accommodate students from countries which drive on the left? 00:26:25 carla.gross: Should we plan shorter class periods so that there is extra time for students to enter and exit rooms and buildings in between classes. If so should this be standardized. 00:28:04 Shannon Ueker: also, walking while masked can slow us down, I think... meaning we need more time to get across campus. 00:28:15 Jill Lodde Greives: Typically, students on waitlists are told to attend the first week. Working to enroll students (many first year) the only option is to get on multiple waitlists. What would you suggest these students do? Just contact the instructor? 00:29:55 Ken Lepper: If we are moved to a remote site like "the shack" or Fargo dome. Will there be prioritize/reserved parking for instructors? Will we need revised parking permits? 00:31:36 Carol Cwiak: Is there any requirement to report to your office if our class goes remote due to a 10-14 day quarantine? 00:35:16 Greg Cook: Probably a question for Margaret - we are trying to hire PTA’s for classes. Even if they arrive by this Friday, they need to quarantine for 14 days and can’t even be employed until after classes start. HR requires a face to face visit to start their employment. They need to have access to the NDSU email and blackboard, etc. This is creating a big challenge. 00:37:17 John Miller: Moving from the current 75% capacity to a 50% capacity will cause some specialized sections or labs (Music, for example) to be overloaded. May we contact Kim or someone else in your office to try and work out an alternative to moving to what would be a problematic alternative classroom? 00:38:39 Greg Cook: No . . Professional Academic . . I have someone who is a US citizen but currently in Canada. 00:39:12 Kayla Kottsick: Greg - we've hired them earlier by providing the first section of the I-9 right away and then having them bring in their ID when they are out of quarentine 00:39:38 Greg Cook: Thanks everyone. 00:40:39 Shannon Ueker: who is the new "space" person? I emailed Kim and she referred me to someone else but I can't recall. 00:40:58 Jill Lodde Greives: Thank you for this session, this was very helpful! 00:41:12 Carol Cwiak: Great to have you at NDSU Phillip - welcome. 00:41:24 Shannon Ueker: yes! thanks 00:41:27 Kate Tulibaski: Can you elaborate a little bit about options for downtown buildings? Things you're considering? 00:42:26 Shannon Ueker: thank you all for your continued work. Welcome to Phillip! 00:43:08 Jo Cavins: Thank you for the information. 00:43:12 Amy Gore: Welcome Phillip! Very helpful session, and glad to have you at NDSU! 00:43:23 Anthony Faris: Do we know how many of our students and faculty self-identify as wanting to learn/teach remote? 00:43:23 Jill Lodde Greives: Will NDSU be notified of Tri-COllege students that test positive? 00:43:28 John Miller: Good session; thanks. 00:43:30 Melissa Vosen Callens: Thank you! And welcome to NDSU! 00:44:28 jeffrey.bumgarner: probably for Margaret... if we have a class that requires an overlow second classroom, could we instead have half the students come one day and the other half another day? The other half on a given day would remote in individually. I'd prefer something like that over having a separate classroom remoting in. 00:46:36 Carrie Anne Platt: Helpful session. Thanks for taking the time to communicate (now and later)! :) 00:46:59 Ganapathy Mahalingam: Thank you! 00:47:00 Amelia Asperin: Thank you for the update. 00:47:01 Deirdre Voldseth: Thanks, this was really helpful. And welcome to you Philip! 00:47:05 andrew croll: thanks 00:47:06 JIll Nelson: Thank you! 00:47:07 Mark Nawrot: Thanks Philip 00:47:09 Danling Wang: Thank you. 00:47:10 Kelli Layman : Welcome Philip!
