dc.description.abstract | The landscape of the American Health Care System is undergoing rapid change as providers transition from paper to electronic health records (EHRs) and strive to meet the criteria of ‘meaningful use’. This transition requires a workforce with enhanced skills to successfully implement, support and maintain the EHR systems. Lake Region State College, in Devils Lake, ND, in conjunction with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, is offering on-line Health IT certificates that can be completed in six months. LRSC will offer training in four workforce roles: Technical Software Support, Health IT Trainers, Clinician/Practitioner Consultants, and Workflow Redesign Specialists. Individuals completing Lake Region’s Health IT certificate will be prepared to support Electronic Health Records in clinics, hospitals, long term care facilities, public health agencies or vendors of electronic health records systems. Detailed information regarding course content, schedules, cost of certification, and tuition assistance will be discussed. | en_US |
