The object of 1947 experiments was to ascertain if satisfactory control of mosquitoes could be obtained in local recreational areas at Fargo Park District and Grand Fork locations in North Dakota. DDT, DDD, Chlordane and others were applied at .25% concentration. Counts were taken one week after application. The control of mosquitoes in cities and villages is discussed likewise in this article. Mosquito abundance depends on local rainfall which provides breeding situations for the larvae.
