dc.descriptionNorth Dakota lead all other states in barley production from 1942-46. Barley steadily increased in importance as a cash crop in the State. Due to the demand for malting barley, the farmer needed to be sensitive to the market place growing high quality malting barley varieties. Those qualities which made these the most desirable for malting were covered was detailed. The remainder of the article was devoted to those barley varieties best suited for malting in North Dakota.
