dc.description | A good disinfectant applied to seed wheat usually increase s the
germination and stand of plants, prevents covered or stinking
smut in the subsequent crop, and reduce s seedling blight due to
fungus. This paper presents the results of several extensive tests conducted at the North Dakota Experiment Station with different kinds of seed treatments on wheat. Some wheat varieties have resistance to 'covered' or 'stinking smut'. Most durum and varieties of hard wheat were still susceptible to smut. Several recommendations on seed treatment conclude the article. | |
