The control and elimination of noxious weeds in North Dakota is a major phase of a farming program. A study is detailed in this article. This experiment was the first attempt to determine the inhibitory effect of these common North Dakota noxious weeds, the perennial weeds Canada thistle Cirsium arvense and field bindweed Convolvulus arvensis. on plant development. Phytotoxic substances in the weeds tested inhibit seedling growth and germination.
