Sometimes better yields were reported from fields sown with flax variety mixtures than from those sown with of pure varieties. The variety Victory performed well in both farm and experimental plots. Tests were conducted at Fargo, North Dakota in 1947-49 to determine the relative yields of an early, a mid-season and a late flax variety when sown separately and in mixtures. The varieties selected were Sheyenne, Dakota, and B5128, all rust resistant. Date of sowing and climatic conditions greatly influence the relative maturity of flax varieties.
