Experiments with some of the newer fungicides were conducted at Park River and Grand Forks, North Dakota, in 1945 to determine the effectiveness of these materials in the early prevention of Alternaria solani and late Phytophthora infestans, blights of potatoes. More extensive tests were carried on at Grafton in 1946 in order to confirm the previous work and to obtain information on other new products, but the absence of early and late blights prevented an evaluation of the various fungicides. It is the 1946 tests in 1946 that are further explained in their methods, materials and experimental results.
