dc.description | The article addresses the usage of high energy rations for calves at weaning. This period of a calve's life is critical if the weaning weight is to be maintained and a normal gain is to be obtained. The feed must be high energy and high protein. A four year trial initiated in October 1968 is reviewed. It was concluded that it was a profitable practice to feed high energy rations to calves for a three-week period at weaning as demonstrated in each of the four trial years reported in the study. | |
